“An adventure in familiar surroundings has helped many of our children to overcome the fear of being away from home and has paved the way for residentials in later years.”

Overnight camp on your school grounds with We Are Adventurers
Organising a residential school trip with us means bringing the spirit of adventure to your own school grounds. Camp starts at 6pm on Friday. Children arrive with their sleeping bags and teddy bears to see that their familiar school playing field has been transformed into a tented village – including a communal shelter in case of bad weather.
Filled with excitement on a night away from home spent under canvas, we embark on age appropriate outdoor games before gathering around the campfire to toast marshmallows, tell stories and sing campfire songs. Then it’s cups of hot chocolate before we brush our teeth camping style and head to bed where we hear plenty of giggles which eventually peter into silence!
In the morning we enjoy a light breakfast and the children learn practical skills as they pack away the tents under the instruction of our team. They are collected by parents at 9am.

Our passionate outdoor leaders make sure everyone feels safe and has fun
We understand that the first night away from home can be incredibly scary for some children, and holding a residential school trip on school grounds can really help children feel comfortable with this new experience. We work in partnership with teachers from the school to deliver the experience – typically working to a ratio of 1:15.
We’ve been running residential school trips since 2018 from year 3 upwards. Our outdoor leaders are experts at looking after children in outdoor settings, we know how to keep them occupied, inspired and safe!
What do we do?
Our residential school trips serve as an exciting intro to camping experience, where children get to camp overnight in the familiar setting of their school grounds. Please see our FAQs to find out more.

We don’t have a school field - but we’re interested. Are there alternative options?
We have relationships with a number of Manchester schools with secure school fields that are open to welcoming other schools onto their grounds to be part of the experience. Please get in touch with Paul to discuss on 07376081561.
-
Do teachers need to stay overnight?
Yes, they do. As well as familiar spaces – we need familiar faces for children to get the most out of the experience. We work to a ratio of 1:15. This means that in a camp of 60 children, 3 additional teachers from your school would need to attend. The children sleep 4 children to a tent.

Some of the children in my school don’t have sleeping bags and can’t afford to purchase them. Does that rule us out?
We understand that not everyone has sleeping bags, or the funds to purchase them. These are the children we most want to help through adventure. If you are in this position, then please call Paul to discuss on 07376081561.
