Boost their confidence with our Babes In The Wood adventures at Trafford Ecology Park

Our Babes In The Wood outdoor toddler activity programme is designed to help your little one grow in confidence by spending time in the great outdoors. Taking place at Trafford Ecology Park, this 11-acre nature reserve features a lake, stunning woodland and a natural play area. A hidden gem located in the heart of Trafford Park, it provides an outstanding natural learning environment for children and adults of all ages to experience a taste of adventure.

In partnership with Groundwork Manchester, the not-for-profit organisation responsible for the site, we have created a forest school area crammed with outdoor learning early years resources – where your toddler can experience activities including path-making, shelter-building and creating campfire circles.

Alongside Babes In the Wood, we provide outdoor learning early years forest school sessions in nurseries across Greater Manchester, see our Nursery Forest School page for more details.

Ten years of creating outdoor learning resources

With more than 10 years’ experience working alongside schools and nurseries, we have a huge range of outdoor learning early years resources and activities in our adventure programme which supports EYFS, KS1, KS2 and KS3.

Although we are lucky to have Trafford Ecology Park on our doorstep for delivering outdoor education, we’re just as passionate about helping schools in the local area to create their own natural learning environment and are glad to share our expertise with those who want to develop their own forest school proposition.

What do we do?

From where to park to facilities available on site, our most common queries are answered here.

  • Is there parking available?

Yes, there is a large carpark and your instructor will meet you here before your woodland adventure begins.

  • Are there toilets on site?

There are no facilities on site for our toddler activity club and we recommend travel potties. We have a camping loo for birthday parties and we bring in portable toilets for the holiday clubs.

  • Is the park open to the public?

Generally the park is open to the public from Monday – Friday from 9am – 4pm, with the exceptions of Bank Holidays and the Christmas/New Year break.

Interested?

Book a holiday club space, pay for after school clubs, check the start dates for our six week toddler programme and look at availability for a birthday party.
