Send your children on a holiday adventure in Manchester

Pack their school holiday with new experiences and a taste of adventure – and sign your children up to the We Are Adventurers holiday club. Hosted in secure woodland sites throughout Greater Manchester, our school holiday club is packed with adventure based school holiday activities to create memories that will last a lifetime for children aged five-11.

Children stay with their age-appropriate ‘tribe’ throughout the day, developing and challenging their knowledge of the natural world and their spirit of adventure. Our school holiday activities include archery, survival skills, shelters, fire, water, bushcraft, campfire cookery, musical forest, navigation, trees or bug hunting – the list goes on!

Rain never stops play at the We Are Adventurers school holiday club – in fact it brings in a whole new world of experiences and activities. On days that are cold, wet or damp, we light the campfire, build shelters and make warm drinks. All the children come home muddy and happy.

Lots of activities, small groups and experienced leaders

Each school holiday club site is managed by a qualified forest school leader or senior instructor who is part of our core team at We Are Adventurers. All our team are paediatric first aid trained and experienced at delivering all aspects of our adventure programme.

Our small school holiday day camps are open for up to 45 children. The ratio of leader to children differs depending on the risk assessment of each of our school holiday activities. For example, tool use has a ratio of 1:6, while game playing has a ratio of 1:15.

An additional cost of £5 for early drop off (from 8am) or a late pick up (till 5.30pm) and £8 if you need both early and late wraparound support.

  • What should I send them with?

A packed lunch, snacks, a water bottle, spare clothes and a hat/suncream/insect repellent (where required).

Please note that we are a nut free site, therefore please ensure your child’s packed lunch and snacks do not contain any nuts. This includes Nutella, hummus and Peanut butter.

  • What should my child wear?

We are in the forest all day come rain or shine, so sending your children with appropriate clothing is very important. Long sleeves and trousers/leggings are always recommended for running about the woods.

  • Can my child bring a pen knife?

If your child wants to bring a pen knife with them, please make sure that their name is on it as they will be asked to hand these in at the start of the day and then can only be used in supervised tool use/rope sessions.
