Our core team are a blend of qualified teachers, outdoor instructors, forest school practitioners and second careerers who all share the same passion for engaging children with learning through adventure. All of our team are DBS checked, and first aid qualified and are fully risk assessed. To apply to join the team email paul@weareadventurers.co.uk

During holiday clubs and at Birthday Parties, our team expands to welcome support leaders who help deliver some of the low risk content under the supervision of the core team. These students return year after year, growing in confidence and ability and bolstering their CV for future applications. To apply to be a support leader email paul@weareadventurers.co.uk

    Paul Wilcox

    Designated Safeguarding Lead

    Former soldier and forest school leader Paul Wilcox is hands-on in the business. Alongside developing the learning through adventure programme, he’s piloting an intervention programme designed to help children who’ve had a difficult experience through covid to re-engage with schools. Paul was diagnosed as dyslexic when he was 15, which means that he understands first hand about the difficulties some children face in the classroom.

    David is a qualified outdoor leader and alongside content delivery, takes the lead on managing the resourcing, sites and equipment essential to creating a safe and enjoyable adventure.

    Mike Sherrington

    Senior Forest School Instructor

    Level 3 Forest School instructor Mike is also a qualified archery and climbing instructor. Famed for his Jack Sparrow tash, Mike is a firm favourite with the children. He solo walked from Lands End to John o’Groats to raise money for the British Red Cross.

    Scout leader Howard had a long career in the Christe before joining WAA in 2018. He’s known for his approach to theatrical storytelling and often dons a feathered hat to capture the imagination or the children at birthday parties and holiday clubs.

    Forest School Instructor

    Outdoor instructor Kate is studying for her level 3 Forest School qualification. The former postie has had a portfolio of careers with plenty of transferable skills – including snowboarding instructor and EYFS Stretch N Grow coach.

  • Luke Durcan

    Forest School Instructor

    Luke is a qualified teacher and switched to outdoor education after seeing the benefits to children’s wellbeing in schools. He is a keen sportsman and loves to travel.

    Administrative Manager

    Nat is the one who manages the bookings, sorts out the childcare vouchers and who keeps us in business by staying on top of the books. From time to time, she even joins the team in the field supporting at after school clubs.

  • Jennifer Wilcox

    Company Director

    Jennifer works alongside Paul administrating some of the legal and operational requirements of the business. She did once help at a party, but ran into a tree, so now she stays next to her laptop and helps us to tell our story.
