Adventurous School Trip Ideas in the Forest
At We Are Adventurers, we offer a school trip experience at Trafford Ecology Park, an 11 acre nature reserve where we’ve built our adventure base or – if budgets are tight – we can bring a school trip experience to your school grounds. Our school trip experience can last a half day or a full day.
Children arrive by coach/car (arranged by the school) and are greeted by our lead adventurer who will take them into the woods for a safety briefing. Themed school trip ideas for younger children could be centred around the fairy forest or a teddy bears picnic, for older children it could be Robin Hood, Harry Potter or survival skills.
Everybody brings a packed lunch, but older children will be able to try their hand at cooking sausages and making damper bread, while younger children will be able to toast chocolate brioche. There is plenty of den building and game playing and every session ends with a campfire and toasted marshmallows.

Trust us to deliver the best school trip
Our school trips are tailor made programmes of activity to best suit the needs of the class. The school trip can be linked to a curriculum based topic e.g how to make early tools used in the Stone Age or how to make your own sword and shield for the Romans.
The site and the activities are all fully risk assessed and our team, made up of qualified teachers, outdoor instructors and forest school leaders, are keen to share their passion for adventure.

-
How many children can attend at any time?
Up to 60 children can attend, on arrival they’ll be split into up to four animal themed tribes and will stay with their lead instructor throughout as they move through a programme of activities.
-
How do you make it feel like a school trip if we stay on school grounds?
We will bring in a raft of equipment e.g. archery, the Da Vinci bridge, tents and fire dishes that the children won’t have seen before which will bring a sense of excitement and surprise.
-
Are there any facilities for the children/staff to use?
We have portable toilets that are kept in a clean and tidy fashion. Rain doesn’t stop play at We Are Adventurers, but if the weather is especially bad, we will gather the children under our shelters and flex the programme so that they leave happy and with a sense of achievement.
