Two day camp experience on school grounds

At We Are Adventurers, we know every school and its pupils are different, which is why our overnight camps are completely bespoke, designed to fit the needs and culture of each school we work with.

Perfect for Year 3 – Year 6 pupils, these camps offer an exciting sleepover experience without parents, right on their familiar school grounds.

Two leaders attend from We Are Adventurers, and teachers from the school make up the ratio to keep the children safe and supported.

Why it works for schools and pupils

Our overnight camps are a flexible, affordable alternative to traditional residentials.

Some schools choose to use them as an end-of-year celebration, sometimes running a disco and serving food before pupils head outside to set up camp.

A big bonus for schools and families is cost. With no transport required and camps held on-site, the price is just a fraction of an external trip. This makes it more accessible to a wider range of pupils and easier for schools to organise.

The camps are also more inclusive. Held in a familiar setting and easily adapted, they can be shaped to respect cultural beliefs and individual needs, ensuring all children can take part comfortably.

Because each camp is bespoke, activities and schedules can be tailored to suit your pupils. This flexibility helps every child feel involved, supported, and excited about the adventure.

Lead Explorer Paul Wilcox says: “Every child should have the chance to experience the joy and growth that comes from a residential, no matter their background or circumstances.”

Suggested format for Yr 5 and 6

Suggested format for Yr3/4

For some children, this will be the first time they have stayed away from their parents, for others it will be their first night under canvas. Our leaders are very sensitive to the excitement and nerves this can bring on. As such, our Yr3/4 format is much lighter.

When school finishes, students return home for something to eat in preparation for the evening. We recommend hosting camps for younger years on Friday night as this means that the children will be able to rest the following day.

Kit list (each child brings)

  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • PJs
  • Change of clothes
  • Water bottle
  • Teddy
  • Book

Please do NOT bring sweets. We will give them sweets in the evening, too many sweets and no one goes to sleep (!)
