Outdoor learning after school club ideas

We operate in partnership with schools across Manchester to deliver forest school after school clubs on school grounds. Our instructors work with a mixed year group, following our adventure led-programme.

At the start of the year (or the term for people who join mid way through the year) your child will receive their own ‘Adventure Passport’ that will track their progress as they engage in learning about the great outdoors through adventure.

We have an exciting range of outdoor after school club activity ideas such as soft target archery, den building and campfire cooking. We spend most of our time outdoors, but when the weather is truly awful, we take the opportunity to stay inside and teach the children map reading, leaf and poo identification, play forest bingo and make lanterns. At the end of each half term, we celebrate with a campfire, toasted marshmallows and a recount of what we’ve learnt in the weeks that have passed.

Looking at the development of your whole child

Our Forest School after school club provides a rewarding environment for all pupils – especially those who struggle within traditional school settings, who feel shy in a group or need to find ways to grow in self belief. The woodland is a wonderful place to focus on communication skills, nurturing and confidence.

Our adventure passport documents just how far your little adventurer has come on their learning journey. We track when they first learn a skill, when they master it and when they are able to confidently teach another child how to do it. It’s also a great conversation starter at dinnertime!

Testimonials

Thumbs

“Please pass on a thank you to the team who’ve been running the after school club at Oswald Road school this term. My son did the club and loved it. Unfortunately he didn’t get a place for next term, but he’s coming to the summer holiday club for a week, so he’ll be back! Anyway, I just wanted to thank you, as my son had a great time!”
