Providing Teachers With The Skills To Bring Their Outdoor Classes To Life

Many schools have recognised the benefits outdoor learning and the forest school movement can have on pupil outcomes and as a result have invested in upskilling teams and creating outdoor classrooms.

For schools like these we offer additional forest school training and mentoring for teachers/TAs who have their level 2 or level 3 forest school leader qualification. These practical content-led sessions equip participants with a range of new skills and ideas so they can deliver an entirely new and updated forest schools experience to their schools.

The day consists of our experienced instructors leading three sessions. Topics covered include understanding necessary risk assessments, equipment lists, practical application, practice, lesson planning and reflection. You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to troubleshoot your own forest school set-up with our team. We’re certain you’ll leave confident that you can deliver the sessions in your own setting.

The secret to creating memorable outdoor learning experiences

Our Forest School Training classes are designed to improve your offering as a school, or your development as a teacher. Our experienced instructors share with you the secrets to creating unique and memorable outdoor learning experiences – derived from over a decade of experience in the sector.

Grounded in the forest school ethos, our courses will refresh your knowledge of practical elements such as tool training, campfire lighting, building different types of shelter and tying knots. We can deliver Forest School Training sessions on school grounds or at our woodland base at Trafford Ecology Park.

TESTIMONIALS

Thumbs

“Paul and the team ran a workshop for our EYFS team to help the team understand the challenges and opportunities of delivering a low level forest school programme in the woodland next door. It really boosted the confidence of the team and allowed us to extend the types of content we were able to deliver.”
